Exploitation in the name of e-shram card !
There are allegations of some people using e-shram cards in the Saintala block of Odisha. Brokers are going to various villages in the block to explain the central government's e-shram card to the people. While not sure what benefits this card will get, various categories are showing particular interest. They are charging 100 to 200 people for registration on the e-shram card portal. Krishnachandra Sahu, state coordinator of the National Labor Congress, condemned the move and demanded that the administration take necessary steps. "A lot of workers lost their lives on the way to and from Corona," he said. The Supreme Court was outraged by the lack of data available to any state and central government on how many workers were working in which states and ordered the state government to assess the status and presence of workers. As a result, Krishnachandra Sahu revealed that he has made an e-shram card to collect workers' information within the e-shram portal.
