What is e-shram card?
The e-shram card is a card approved by the Ministry of Labor and Employment of the Government of India. It collects data from unauthorized workers. The NDUW e-shram card scheme has now been launched. Each worker in the sector is provided with a personal number and the government has provided Rs 200,000 in accident insurance to the registered workers. If there is a physical disability, the government can get permanent disability insurance of Rs 1 lakh.
To get this e-shram card you need to be 16 to 59 years old from 22-09-1961 to 21-09-2005.
A bank account and a mobile number are also required. This will allow the government to keep in touch with migrant workers and create employment opportunities for them. Once registered, workers will be given an e-shram card with an innovative universal account number. With this card, workers can avail the benefits of various government social security schemes anywhere and at any time.
