1.5 million new members have been added to the EPFO in the country

About 1.5 million new members were added to the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) in August. In August, the number of members added was 12.61% more than in July. Of the 14.81 lakh members who joined the EPFO this month, 9.19 lakh were added for the first time, according to data released by the Ministry of Labor. About 5.62 million members have resigned and joined the EPFO. They have transferred funds from the previous employer to the current account. In August, a maximum of 4.03 lakh members aged 22-25 joined the EPFO in terms of age. 3.25 lakh members aged 18-21 are involved. Maharashtra, Haryana, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are leading the way in adding more members. These states have added about 8.95 million new members.
